Did Gray Fullbuster Just Flat Out Reject Juvia?

3 comments
Once again, SPOILER ALERT!
If you haven't read ch. 388 yet, you should first.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did I just see Gray rejecting Juvia!? O.O Oh no, he did not.. >.<* Out of all the things he has done, this is by far the worst thing he'd ever said, even if it wasn't really taken as seriously. This hardcore GruVia fan is going furious still. Is this his new resolve?
I hope not; I meant like, Gray and Juvia are meant for each other. T-T And he just said, "I don't" when Juvia declared her love. On top of that, he turned his back on her and walked away, only to turn his head back and said, "I'm going to honestly say no to stuff I don't like from now on." From what I see, Gray just indirectly said that he "doesn't" like Juvia. Like what the heck!? I swear I really wanna punch Gray's face right about now.. >< Don't say that to Juvia, and don't break this GruVia fan's heart, you bastard!! >< Gray, u darn bastard!! >//< Despite the fact that I love you, I can still rip your face off for saying that to Juvia.. And that facial expression, too.. You $(&%()#%)! Yes, sorry for my foul language, but he really ticked me off there. Especially with that cold face of his. What happened to all the developments in the previous chapters? T-T  If Gray doesn't redeem himself, I swear I would really, really start to root for Lyon (even though he indirectly mentioned giving up on Juvia).
Juvia Lockster Stops Using 3rd Person!?
-->SPOILERS ALERT<--
I've warned you, so read at your own risks.
~~~~~~~~~

To be honest, I've been really excited about chapter 388 since last week.. lol.. I mean like, with the gate destroyed and the dragons all gone, it's the celebration time, right? Not to mention, this week has 3 chapters all to itself. One thing caught me by surprise though. The fact that Juvia seems to be talking in 1st person now. She told Gray something about her entering the new era and being a new version of Juvia (Juvia 2.0), then she started to drop her habit of speaking in 3rd person. And of course, being the Juvia fan I was, I noticed it soon afterward. Her first 1st person outburst was when she said, "Gray-sama, I love you!" Yep, there are two things wrong with this- Juvia referring herself as "I" and Juvia saying "you". Yeah, definitely first person speech there. Her first
 person talk did not just end with her sudden confession of love. It continues on. Gray said, : "I don't", and something like he will start saying no to the things he doesn't like (I'll elaborate on that more later ==). Instead of sulking around, Juvia being the typical cheerful Juvia said, "You're wonderful even when you criticize me, Gray-sama!" Again with her first person talk.
Chapter 388 also wasn't  the end of it since Juvia continued to be like this even in chapter 340. Gray looked a bit depressed (due to Ultear's problem), and Juvia, of course, noticed everything about her Gray-sama. She told him not to look depressed for the sake of other people. "I don't know what's wrong, but it's not nice to the rest to make such a face." Once again, Juvia used "I" instead of her usual "Juvia" when referring to herself. After Gray finally smiled, she once again went a bit over the top saying, "Oh no! What is this? You're so cool, I love it!"

From whichever ways you look at it, Juvia seems to drop her habit of speaking in third person, and starts to talk normally. I'm not exactly sure what's happening either since it has been only 2 chapters that she has been like this. So all we can do right now is wait and see what will happens next. But it is quite obvious that she had dropped her old habit.

Gray Fullbuster Dead?.... No Freakin' Way!

---> Spoiler Alert<--- If you haven't read Fairy Tail ch. 334 yet, you should read it first because this post contains a lot of spoiler.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, just this morning, I was all excited because tonight is Fairy Tail manga new chapter release. Just an hour ago, I was thrilled to read the new chapter. I was happy, I actually grinned like an idiot when Gray pushed Juvia and Meredy away from the shot because it showed that he cares about her.
 THEN, he told Juvia he had something to tell her.
Yes, I was literally jumping out of my bed. HE WAS GONNA CONFESS TO HER! or so I thought. =.= IT had to happen (thanks a lot Mashima). Some stupid dragon had to shoot toward Juvia's direction, and Gray then of course jumped in front of her and shove her away, while getting the shot himself.
Gray was shot while trying to protect Juvia. Juvia. You can look at it both ways. The major GruVia moment there, and the fact that Gray was shot big time there. The first shot was at his heart. The next few shots were on his body; his arm looked like it ripped, and blood was squirting out. And Juvia? Out of the question. T-T And finally, he was finished off with a shot in the head.
      It seems like this time, Hiro Mashima is really trolling all fans a major big time. Like, Gray Fullbuster is dead!? No way freakin' way. I refuse to believe this because there are so many, many reasons to why Gray cannot die. So, on the more logical terms, Ultear is acting fishy in this chapter. She was remorse for what she'd done before and thought that her sin is hard to be forgiven and get rid of. And what is Ultear's magic again? Yes right, Time Arc. It seemed like her Time Arc magic has the power to bring things back to life (like that time the tree on Tenroujima came back to life). And what is Gray to her? He's almost, almost like a brother to her because of their connection to Ul. Since she is trying to redeem herself, it seemed relevant that she will help him out; maybe at the cost of her own life? After all, the title of this chapter is "Sin and Sacrifice". The next chapter title is "The Time of Life", which leads to another more solid hypothesis. Ultear's magic is "time" and "life" as in either Gray's or her own life. The title could be the metaphor of this whole predicament.
It is most likely that Ultear will be able to help Gray, maybe with the cost of her own life. Gray will be fine; I believe  so. With this being said, I still have my own doubt and fear. What if Mashima-sensei tries to shock us for real? After all, he did kill Rena, who was the Juvia-figure in Rave. What if this time, he would kill Gray instead of Juvia? Yes, to be honest, I was worried that Juvia would end up like Rena because she looks like the kind to die while trying to protect her Gray-sama. But now, Mashima-sensei made it the opposite with Gray trying to protect Juvia instead. Many what if's came into my head, and I have my own fears, but I refuse to believe to believe that anything bad would happen to Gray. He'll be fine, somehow. He will be. Besides, he told Juvia he had
something to tell her. He didn't get to her, yet. And looking at his facial expression and the situation there, it must be something very important. Yes, I'm an obvious GruVia fan. ^^ I mean, why would Gray want to tell Juvia something in the middle of a fight, war even, if it's not something important like he said? Is it the long awaited moment when he finally say "the words"? For now, no one knows the real answer beside Mashima-sensei himself. If it's really that important, Gray would definitely be okay because he still have to tell whatever he wanted to tell her. Since he didn't have the chance to tell her, yet, he will come back alive and tell her. So rest assure, Gray will be fine ( I hope ><). Besides, this was a major improvement on GruVia. He saved her not once, but twice in just a few minutes. His first reaction to that shot was shoving Juvia aside so that she would be okay. Lyon was also there, but Gray was lightning speed. GruVia shippers, you know what this means? Yes, Gray really cares about Juvia's well-being; more than a nakama because he even reacted faster than Lyon, who boldly proclaims his love for her.
It was always obvious that Gray has a thing for her, and this confirms whatever doubt you might have about his feeling for her. Whatever happens in the next chapter, Gray will be fine. Or so I would like to believe. If not next chapter, it's sometime near the end of the arc. It's like placing a bet on Mashima-sensei's writing, and I bet on the good possibilities. Let's wait until next chapter, ne?
